Portrait of James Allen
James Allen · Editor of The Commuter's Briefing

James Allen has spent more than twenty years in education, training and organisational leadership — helping people think more clearly, learn more readily and make better decisions.

He is drawn to the place where psychology, history, philosophy and behavioural science meet ordinary life, and he enjoys finding ideas that are surprising and genuinely useful.

He believes humour is one of the best ways to learn. His writing is warm, curious and companionable — making complex subjects readable and human.

Through The Commuter's Briefing, he hopes to turn an ordinary commute into a few minutes of sharper thinking, a better conversation, a fresh way of seeing.

James also writes at Boring Bloke Books — a site devoted to ridiculous gag gifts and fun hobbies.

“Turn an ordinary commute into a few minutes of sharper thinking, a better conversation, a fresh way of seeing.”
